Rolling Raclette is a Swiss pop-up raclette concept created in 2025 by two Swiss founders and a Londoner sharing the same values. .
Inspired by the authenticity of Switzerland and the convivial spirit of London, the project brings the tradition of raclette to the city through itinerant pop-up evenings.
Hosted in pubs, private homes and special events, Rolling Raclette is about real Swiss cheese, simple food, and moments meant to be shared.

From Tradition to London
Raclette is a traditional dish originating from the canton of Valais in Switzerland. Born over 400 years ago, Valais shepherds would melt half-wheels of cheese over an open wood fire before scraping the melted layer onto potatoes or bread.
Born in the Alpine pastures, raclette has become an iconic symbol of Swiss gastronomy a dish rooted in conviviality, sharing and authenticity. Today, it is still enjoyed in the traditional way, melted directly from the wheel

Raclette is one of Switzerland's most beloved culinary traditions — a semi-hard cow's milk cheese that has been melted and scraped over plates for centuries. But not all raclette is created equal. The AOP label (Appellation d'Origine Protégée) guarantees that the cheese was produced, aged, and crafted entirely within a defined Alpine region, following strict traditional methods. It's a mark of authenticity and terroir — the same way Champagne can only truly come from Champagne. When you taste AOP Raclette, you're tasting something real.

Located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, the Valais is one of Switzerland's most dramatic and sun-drenched valleys. Surrounded by some of Europe's highest peaks including the iconic mountains above Verbier, its lush summer pastures sit at altitude, where cows graze on a rich diversity of mountain grasses and wildflowers. This exceptional terroir is what gives Valais raclette its distinctive depth of flavour: nutty, creamy, and slightly floral. The region's long cheesemaking heritage is inseparable from the landscape itself.

We could have sourced our cheese from a large industrial dairy. We chose not to. Instead, we work with small, independent producers in the Valais who still make raclette the way it has always been made — by hand, in small batches, with milk from their own herds. These are families who know every cow by name and every wheel by season. Choosing them means choosing quality over volume, and it means that every plate of Rolling Raclette carries a story behind it. We think that matters.
